Northern Arizona has been BUSY!
Over the past few weeks, our Northern Arizona Team has responded to multiple disasters across the region. From the Pocket Fire in Sedona, where volunteers opened a shelter for those impacted, to significant flooding in Prescott Valley and the Lower Moenkopi community, our volunteers have shown up whenever and wherever they were needed.
But the work doesn’t stop when the headlines fade. Behind the scenes, volunteers have been restocking disaster trailers, organizing supplies, and making sure we’re ready for whatever emergency comes next.
This incredible team has also been out in the community, sharing the Red Cross mission at the first-ever Tribal Communities Conference in Flagstaff and connecting with neighbors at a community event in Heber-Overgaard. Every conversation helps build a stronger, more prepared community.
We’re also excited to welcome a new Northern Arizona staff member, who has jumped right in to support disaster services across the region!
And with so much response activity, there’s never been a better time to train new volunteers. Our Disaster Action Team (DAT) trainings are helping more people get ready to serve, and many of our newest volunteers are already putting those skills into action to help families on some of their toughest days.
