Shohoz Limited has introduced e-ticketing services on Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC)\u2019s women-only \u201cPink Bus\u201d service, aiming to make public transportation more convenient, organised and technology-enabled for women passengers. Under the initiative, POS-based e-ticketing is now available on 14 women-only buses operating across Dhaka, Chattogram and Bogura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The service was formally launched recently at an event held at the Tejgaon BRTC Bus Depot. Through the new system, women passengers can purchase e-tickets quickly and conveniently using POS machines on board the buses. The technology-enabled system is expected to make the ticketing process more organised and transparent while contributing to an improved passenger experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the e-ticketing partner, Shohoz Limited is providing the necessary technology and implementation support for the initiative. To ensure smooth operation of the service, Shohoz teams were present at the relevant BRTC depots and provided hands-on training to conductors of the women-only buses on how to operate the POS machines. The training covered POS machine operations, e-ticket issuance and other necessary ticketing procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The launch event was attended by Sheikh Robiul Alam, Minister for Road Transport and Bridges, Railways and Shipping, as the chief guest. State Minister Habibur Rashid, Dr Mohammad Ziaul Haque, Secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division; and Yasmin, Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, attended the event as special guests. The event was chaired by Abdul Latif Molla, Chairman of BRTC & Senior officials from BRTC were also present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shohoz\u2019s e-ticketing initiative on BRTC buses marks an important step towards expanding technology-enabled public transport services for women passengers. In particular, the introduction of POS-based e-ticketing is expected to make ticket purchasing faster and more organised while creating a more convenient and comfortable travel experience for passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the service now available on 14 women-only buses across Dhaka, Chattogram and Bogura, the initiative creates an opportunity to further modernise public transportation through technology.
