Dhaka : Prime Bank PLC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) to support an agricultural research initiative under the Bank’s Special Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The MoU was signed to implement a special project titled “Climate Resilient Sustainable Crop, Fisheries and Livestock Development in Haor Agro-Ecosystem of Bangladesh (CRCFLDHAB).” 0The signing ceremony was held at the Prime Bank Head Office, where Faisal Rahman, CEO of Prime Bank PLC and Prof. Dr. Md. Hammadur Rahman, Director of the Bangladesh Agricultural University Research System (BAURES), signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project aims to enhance food security and strengthen the rural economy by developing and promoting climate-resilient technologies for crop production, fisheries and livestock management in Bangladesh’s Haor region. It also seeks to build farmers’ capacity through training and knowledge transfer, enabling them to adopt sustainable and climate-smart agricultural practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through this initiative, Prime Bank’s CSR funding will support research focused on developing locally adapted, climate-resilient farming technologies, conducting integrated scientific studies across key agricultural sectors and empowering farming communities through practical training and extension services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among those present on behalf of Prime Bank PLC were M. Nazeem A. Choudhury, Additional Managing Director; Md. Ziaur Rahman, Additional Managing Director and Shahana Pervin, Head of Agro Business. Representing Bangladesh Agricultural University were Prof. Dr. Md. Mojammel Haque, Lead Researcher & Project Director; Dr. Mohammad Matiur Rahman, Associate Director of BAURES and Dr. Paresh Kumar Sarma, Senior Scientific Officer. Senior officials from Prime Bank also attended the signing ceremony.
