Dhaka : BRAC Bank, in partnership with Bangladesh Open Source Network, has conducted three cohorts of its flagship women entrepreneurship development programme, Amrai TARA, equipping 90 women entrepreneurs across Brahmanbaria, Habiganj and Moulvibazar with essential digital business skills.
The three-day training programmes were held throughout May with 30 women entrepreneurs participating in each batch.
Amrai TARA is a flagship women entrepreneurship development initiative of BRAC Bank, supported by the Gates Foundation. The programme is designed to strengthen the entrepreneurial capabilities of women across Bangladesh through practical training, mentorship, networking and market access opportunities. It focuses on fostering long-term economic empowerment by equipping women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, confidence and tools required to scale their businesses and deepen their economic impact within their communities.
The training sessions covered key areas of enterprise development, including business planning, financial management, digital literacy, branding, marketing and customer engagement. Participants also engaged with peers and resource persons, gaining exposure to practical insights and building networks that support sustained business growth.
In Brahmanbaria, the programme was attended by Md. Monirul Islam, Regional Head of Sylhet Region, CMS, SME Division of BRAC Bank, along with Md. Tazul Islam, Territory Manager, Brahmanbaria Territory, CMS, SME Division. In Habiganj, Muhammad Rukan Uddin, Territory Manager, Cottage, Micro & Small Business, SME Division, engaged with participants, while in Moulvibazar, Gautam Debnath, Territory Manager, Cottage, Micro & Small Business, SME Division, interacted with the entrepreneurs and underscored the importance of structured entrepreneurial support at the local level.
BRAC Bank officials reaffirmed their commitment to advancing women\u2019s economic participation and inclusive growth through targeted entrepreneurship initiatives, noting that stronger women-led enterprises create a multiplier effect by generating employment, boosting productivity and driving local prosperity.
