Dhaka : UCB Fintech Company Limited- upay, one of Bangladesh’s leading mobile financial services providers, has partnered with SplitPay, the technology facilitation partner for Community Bank PLC\u2019s Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) semester fee payment solution, to enhance the accessibility and convenience of university fee payments for students.
Under the arrangement, students will initially be able to pay BNPL application fees through upay\u2019s payment services and apply for semester fee financing offered by Community Bank PLC. Upon approval of the application by Community Bank PLC, eligible students may avail themselves of the BNPL facility, enabling repayment of semester fees in instalments in accordance with the bank\u2019s approved terms. SplitPay supports the solution as the technology facilitation partner pursuant to its arrangement with Community Bank PLC on August 2026.
The partnership agreement was signed today at upay Headquarters, Dhaka, in the presence of senior officials from UCB Fintech Company Limited, SplitPay, and participating universities.
On behalf of their respective organisations, Sajjad Alam, Head of Corporate Sales, upay, and Jubair Mahmud Pulock, Founder and Managing Director, SplitPay, signed the agreement.
The event was attended by Mamun Reza Khan, Head of Technology; Arpan Kumar Saha, Head of Human Resources; Md. Murad Hasan, Head of Private Education, from upay; Samuel Mursalin, Faculty Member of North South University (NSU); Afnan Yusuf from Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB); Mir Mutasim Hossain, Director, SplitPay, along with other senior officials from the respective organisations.
The initiative aims to provide greater financial flexibility to students and their families while expanding access to digital financial solutions in the education sector.
The solution will initially be available for participating universities, with the potential to expand its reach to more educational institutions in the future.
