While many residents displaced by the Aspen Acres Fire remain under evacuation orders, the American Red Cross is already preparing for the next phase of our response.
Volunteers are organizing cleanup kits and tools that will be distributed to residents as they return to homes affected by the fire. Each kit includes essentials like mops, scrub brushes, sponges, cleaning solution, gloves and masks to help remove smoke damage, ash and soot. Rakes, shovels and brooms will also be available to help clear debris around homes.
“We hope these supplies make one small part of a difficult situation a little easier,” said American Red Cross volunteer Rich Garcia. “When people are finally able to return home, we want them to have the tools they need to take those first steps toward recovery.”
