This week, Assistant Minister Julian Hill visited Bangladesh to further deepen our education, migration and humanitarian cooperation.
Across meetings with government, educators and students, he explored how our countries can work together to expand opportunities for Bangladeshi students to study at Australian universities and vocational education providers.
Assistant Minister Hill also met with Bangladesh Government officials to discuss migration issues, including further growing our cooperation to combat irregular migration and human trafficking.
During the visit, Assistant Minister Hill was briefed by humanitarian partners on the latest developments in the response to the Rohingya refugee crisis and witnessed the signing of a new AUD25.25 million, three-year funding agreement with UNHCR.
