Dhaka : Huawei has launched Bangladesh’s first grid-forming smart string inverter and Energy Storage System for utility sector. These introductions will be great contributors to Bangladesh’s renewable energy targets and country’s development. Managing Director of Huawei South Asia Digital Power Department, Will Yu; Chief Technology Officer, Huawei Asia Pacific Digital Power Business, Wang Junfeng; Managing Director of Huawei South Asia Public Affairs, Ma Ben inaugurated the solutions at an event titled “Grid-Forming Technology Powering a Greener Future” arranged by Huawei this Wednesday in Dhaka. Inspired with the theme “The Integration of Solar and BESS Accelerates Renewable Energy Transition,” the event brought together other key stakeholders from Bangladesh’s power and renewable energy sectors, including government officials, local utility suppliers, independent power producers, global investors, technical advisors, consultants, and EPC contractors. Huawei introduced the SUN2000-506KTL-H3, the industry’s first grid-forming smart string inverter over 500KW, alongside the LUTERRA-6261-2S/4S, an advanced Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The event commenced with a welcome address by Will Yu followed by a presentation from Wang Junfeng on “Global Renewable Energy Trends” while Ma Ben delivered closing remarks. Will Yu said, “The integration of solar power with battery storage systems is becoming the cornerstone of the global renewable energy transition. Solar generation alone is no longer enough – we need intelligent energy storage and grid-forming technologies to ensure renewable energy is available whenever it is needed. At Huawei, we are committed to helping Bangladesh build a smarter, more resilient, and sustainable power system through innovative Solar+Storage solutions that maximize renewable energy utilization. The SUN2000-506KTL-H3 delivers higher power density, enhanced system availability, grid-forming capability, intelligent operation and maintenance (O&M), and advanced safety and reliability features, enabling developers to reduce balance of system (BOS) costs and achieve a lower levelized cost of energy (LCOE). Complementing the inverter, the LUTERRA-6261-2S BESS offers a high round-trip efficiency (RTE) of 92.6%, unique pack-level optimization, cell-to-grid (C2G) safety architecture, higher state-of-charge (SOC) accuracy, industry-leading state-of-health (SOH) performance, and rapid grid-forming response. Masud Rana, Head of Technical, Paramount Group, a Huawei solar inverter solutions user, shared their experience with Paramount 100MW (megawatt) Solar Plant as a case study. Explaining why Paramount selected Huawei’s inverter, he said, “Paramount’s solar power plants are located in several remote areas, including Lalmonirhat, Pabna, Sirajganj, and Moulvibazar. As these locations are highly dusty, it was essential to choose inverters with a high Ingress Protection (IP) rating. Therefore, the IP rating was one of our top priorities. Huawei’s inverters come with an IP66 rating, which meets this requirement. Another important reason is Huawei’s extremely low inverter failure rate. Moreover, whenever any technical issue arises, Huawei provides prompt and efficient technical support to resolve it quickly.” Together, the integrated Solar+Storage solution is well suited to Bangladesh’s grid conditions and policy direction. It can store excess solar energy generated during the day and discharge it during peak demand. It also provides advanced Grid-forming functions, including ramp-rate control, frequency regulation, voltage regulation and reactive power support, and—where required—grid-forming capability. Compared with conventional PV-only installations, the integrated solution significantly enhances plant dispatchability, grid compatibility, and renewable energy integration, contributing to a more stable, resilient, and sustainable power system. Huawei aims to support Bangladesh’s renewable energy ambitions by enabling more efficient solar generation, greater energy storage, improved grid stability, and enhanced integration of renewable power. -Press Release Post Views: 22 Post navigation Prime Bank Signs Agreement with TIJARAH AUTOMOBILES Ryze gives free AI Subscription with Fly Pack
