The 6th Bangladesh–Korea Friendship International Conference on Organ Transplantation was held on 27–28 June 2026 at the Kidney Foundation Hospital and Research Institute, Mirpur, Dhaka. The conference brought together national and international experts from Bangladesh, the Republic of Korea, and Canada to exchange knowledge and experiences on live and deceased donor kidney transplantation.Speaking as a Special Guest, Professor Dr. Pravath Chandra Biswas, Director General of Health Services (DGHS), highlighted the growing burden of kidney disease in Bangladesh and emphasized the importance of strengthening organ transplantation services. He noted that expanding deceased donor transplantation, developing a national organ donor registry, and training transplant coordinators will help save more lives and improve access to advanced treatment.The conference was inaugurated by Professor Abu Zafar Md. Zahid Hossain, MP, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Social Welfare and Ministry of Women and Children Affairs. Distinguished guests included Professor Curie Ahn (Republic of Korea), Professor Jeremy Chapman (Australia), Professor In Sung Moon (Republic of Korea), Professor Hee Young Shin (Republic of Korea), Professor F. M. Siddiqui, Professor Nazmul Hossain, Professor Harun Ur Rashid, and Professor Ruhul Amin Rubel, along with delegates from Bangladesh, Korea, and Canada.
