Dhaka : Samsung captured the highest share of global smartphone shipments in the first half (H1) of 2026. The manufacturer captured a 21.8% global market share during the period, according to recent data published by Counterpoint Research. According to the report, Apple ranked second globally with a 20.9% market share in H1 2026. Xiaomi ranked third with 11.4%, followed by OPPO at 10.3% and vivo at 7.6%. It also notes that the global smartphone market experienced a 7% year-over-year (YoY) contraction in Q2 2026, impacted by rising component costs and macroeconomic pressures. Within this environment, Samsung achieved a notable 9% year-over-year (YoY) growth in shipments. The result was attributed to “supported by favorable pricing and competitive dynamics.” Samsung’s momentum in H1 2026 underscores consumer trust in the brand’s innovative mobile technologies, expanding ecosystem, and high-performance devices. With strong adoption & loyalty across international markets, including Bangladesh, Samsung remains focused on delivering user-centric technology as it enters the second half of the year.
