Turkish Ambassador Calls on Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister

Dhaka :

Ramis Şen, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Bangladesh, called on Iqbal Hassan Mahmood, Minister of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, at the Minister’s office in the Bangladesh Secretariat, Dhaka. The Ambassador was accompanied by Bilal Belyurt, Commercial Counsellor and Harun Ortaç, Chief Executive Officer of United Aygaz LPG Ltd.

During the meeting, the delegation congratulated the Minister on assuming charge of the Ministry and conveyed the continued goodwill of the Government of Türkiye toward Bangladesh. Ambassador Şen briefed the Minister on the current state of bilateral relations and Turkish investment and trade plans in Bangladesh. The Minister welcomed continued Turkish investment and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding participation in the country’s energy sector, including in LNG supply and underscored the importance of government-to-government (G2G) cooperation in helping to narrow the trade gap between the two countries that share religious affinity.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the growing economic and energy cooperation between Bangladesh and Türkiye and discussed avenues to strengthen bilateral ties in the energy sector further.

Ambassador Şen extended an invitation to the Minister to visit Türkiye to further enhance bilateral relations and cooperation. The Minister expressed his desire to visit Türkiye at the earliest convenience.
