Blood donations have dropped to a four-year summer low, leading the Red Cross to declare only the second national blood crisis in its history.
At our Los Donantes blood drives in El Paso last week, community members answered the call. One of them was Camila, a full-time biomedical student and first-time donor who was among the first to arrive and roll up her sleeve.
