No Alternative to Awareness, Cleanliness to Prevent Dengue— Fisheries and Livestock State Minister

State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku today said public awareness and cleanliness are the key factors in preventing dengue transmission.
Highlighting the upcoming three months as extremely crucial for dengue control, the state minister urged citizens to take proactive measures from their respective positions to keep their surrounding environments clean.
The state minister made these remarks while addressing journalists following a colorful rally organized by the Tangail district administration to mark the “Nationwide Dengue Prevention and Cleanliness Campaign 2026” in the district.
Aedes mosquitoes breed in stagnant water accumulated in and around households, leading to the spread of dengue. Therefore, everyone must remain vigilant to prevent waterlogging, the state minister said.
Emphasizing civic responsibility he added, The Prime Minister envisions building this country through collective effort. Everyone must perform their duties. Preventive measures can protect us not only from dengue but also from various other diseases.
The state minister stressed that individual awareness alone is insufficient and called on people to educate and encourage their neighbors to maintain hygiene standards. He noted that active public participation alongside government initiatives is vital to effectively controlling dengue outbreaks.
Tangail Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haq, Superintendent of Police Muhammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar, former Member Secretary of District BNP Mahmudul Haq Sanu, and Sadar Upazila BNP President Azgar Ali, along with district administration officials and local leaders, were present at the event.
