As Bangladesh moves towards revision of the National Adaptation Plan and implementing the updated Climate Change Gender Action Plan, there is a growing realisation that climate action must be inclusive and transformative.Against this backdrop, we jointly organised a high-level dialogue with NACOM and Bonhishikha in partnership with the Department of Environment on 13 July. This dialogue, titled “Inclusive Climate Pathways: Advancing Climate Finance, Just Transition and Gender Justice”, brought together government representatives, development partners, civil society, academia and youth leaders to discuss practical pathways for advancing Bangladesh’s climate agenda.Speaking at the event, our Country Director Farah Kabir urged that climate finance, gender justice and just transition must go hand in hand to ensure no community is left behind. The programme also featured Dr Lutfor Rahman, Director General of the Department of Environment; Mr Md Ziaul Haque, Additional Director General (Climate Change); Mirza Shawkat Ali, Director of Climate Change & International Convention at the Department of Environment; and Aruba Faruque, Deputy Executive Coordinator of YouthNet Global. The dialogue concluded with a shared commitment to advancing people-centred, equitable and evidence-based climate policies through stronger partnerships and collective action.
