Dhaka : BRAC Bank delivered a strong set of results across profitability, operating efficiency and balance sheet expansion in the first half of 2026, underpinned by well diversified businesses, strength of its governance and customer-focused strategy.

On a consolidated basis, including all subsidiaries, the bank reported a 57% year-on-year increase in Net Profit After Tax (NPAT) to BDT 1,423 crore for the six months ended June 30, 2026, compared with BDT 906 crore in the corresponding period of 2025.

On a standalone basis, NPAT rose 67% year-on-year to BDT 1,033 crore, up from BDT 620 crore a year earlier.

Despite a challenging macroeconomic and industry environment, BRAC Bank continued to outperform the market, delivering robust balance sheet growth. Compared with June 2025, customer deposits increased 25%, while loans and advances grew 18%, both ahead of industry averages.

The bank also strengthened operational efficiency, reducing its cost-to-income ratio to 42%, compared with 48% in the first half of 2025, reflecting sustained focus on productivity, cost discipline and digital transformations.

BRAC Bank presented its half yearly (H1) 2026 financial results and business performance during a virtual earnings call held on August 13, 2026, attended by local and international investors, research analysts, portfolio managers and capital market professionals.

BRAC Bank’s Managing Director and CEO, Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, and senior officials presented the financial results, operational achievements, and strengths of the bank and outlined the bank’s strategic focus for the future. The event was livestreamed through the bank’s Facebook page and concluded with a question-and-answer session.

Highlights of the bank’s performance in H1 ‘2026:

Consolidated Earnings Per Share (EPS) increased to BDT 5.07 in H1 2026 compared to BDT 3.09 in the corresponding period of 2025.

The bank’s consolidated net asset value (NAV) per share rose to BDT 49.38 on 30 June 2026 from BDT 44.84 on 31 December 2025.

BRAC Bank’s standalone total deposit grew by 25% in June 2026 compared to June 2025, showing strong alignment with its long-term growth strategy and customer confidence.

Consolidated Return on Equity (RoE) and Return on Assets (RoA) stood at 21.52% and 1.67% respectively.

Total consolidated revenue increased by 29% compared to H1 2025, driven by higher non-funded income coupled with interest income.

The bank’s NPL ratio (non-performing loans) stood at 2.03% in H1 2026 compared to 2.27% in December 2025.

Regarding BRAC Bank’s financial results, Managing Director and CEO, Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, commented: “Our first-half performance reflects the strength of our business model, prudent governance and disciplined execution. Continued customer confidence has enabled us to deliver growth well above the market while maintaining one of the industry’s strongest asset quality indicators. As of June 30, 2026, the bank’s customer deposits exceeded BDT 97,000 crore, while loans and advances reached BDT 76,000 crore, bringing the fund under management to more than BDT 1.73 lakh crore.

The bank continued to record balanced growth across its Corporate, SME and Retail Banking segments while maintaining one of the lowest non-performing loan (NPL) ratios in the industry. Strong balance sheet expansion, improved operating efficiency, most diversified portfolio and disciplined risk management collectively contributed to the bank’s robust earnings performance.
