Footwear Leathergoods and Accessories Exporters Association (FLAXA), successfully hosted the seminar “Traceability to Transparency: Roadmap to Digital Product Passport in the Footwear & Leathergoods Sector”, jointly organized by Business Promotion Council (BPC), Ministry of Commerce recently at a prestigious hotel in Gulshan, Dhaka.The seminar brought together footwear and leathergoods manufacturers, government representatives, policymakers, industry leaders, development partners, and technical experts to discuss the future of traceability, sustainability, and digital compliance in Bangladesh’s FLG sector.The event featured a keynote presentation titled “Traceability Towards Transparency for Sustainability” by Ms. Ferdaus Ara Begum, CEO, BUILD. The keynote presentation provided valuable insights into emerging global trade and sustainability requirements, emphasizing that traceability is becoming a key determinant of market access.A key highlight of the event was the panel discussion featuring Mr. Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Dr. Mohammad Abdur Razzaque, Chairman, RAPID, Ms. Hosna Ferdous Sumi, Senior Private Sector Specialist, World Bank, Mr. Ibnul Wara, Director, FLAXAThe session was moderated by Mr. Syed Nasim Manzur, President, FLAXA.
