The latest edition of “Shondha Prodip,” Artist Club’s regular evening cultural programme, was held on Friday, 31 July 2026, at the Artist Club Lounge in the capital. The musical evening came alive with captivating performances by two of Bangladesh’s celebrated modern music artistes, Rafiqul Alam and Protiti Biswas, filling the evening with melody, emotion and nostalgia. The programme opened with Protiti Biswas, who delighted the audience by performing ten of her popular songs. She was followed by legendary vocalist Rafiqul Alam, who presented ten of his most-loved songs, receiving warm applause throughout his performance. Together, the two artistes transformed the Artist Club Lounge into a vibrant musical gathering. Among the notable songs performed were “Ek Hridoyhinar Kachhe Hridoyer Ki Mullo Achhe,” “Jetuku Shomoy Tumi Thako Kachhe,” “Char Deyaler Majhe Amar Bishal Prithibi,” and “Tomake Jeno Bhule Na Jai,” among many other popular songs. During the programme, State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Newaz Mahmud Khayem made an unexpected visit to Artist Club accompanied by his wife, pleasantly surprising the artistes, organisers and the audience. He spent time enjoying the performances and warmly interacted with the artistes and members of the cultural community. On the occasion, he highlighted several ongoing initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. He also informed the audience that Artist Club’s application for a permanent plot of land is currently on his desk and assured everyone that the matter would receive his prompt attention and necessary action. Responding to enthusiastic requests from the audience, the State Minister later took to the stage and performed two songs, adding a memorable and unique dimension to the evening. His spontaneous participation was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience. The programme was gracefully hosted by renowned vocalist and President of Artist Club, Sujit Mustafa.
