The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society(BDRCS) signed aMemorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bangladesh Institute of Planners – BIP with the objectives to achieve significant milestone in advancing climate resilience efforts in Bangladesh and demonstrates the collective determination of BDRCS and BIP to contribute to a safer, more sustainable, and climate-resilient future.The primary objective of the MoU is to strengthen collaborative research initiatives focusing on the adverse impacts of climate change and extreme heat in urban areas, particularly within Dhaka, Khulna and Bagerhat. Through this partnership, BDRCS and BIP will work together to generate evidence-based research, enhance knowledge sharing, and identify practical solutions to address the growing challenges posed by climate change and urban heat stress.The findings and recommendations from this research are expected to create new pathways for reducing the impacts of climate change, improving urban resilience, and supporting the development of sustainable and climate-resilient cities. This collaboration reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to promoting innovative approaches for climate adaptation and safeguarding vulnerable urban communities from the increasing risks associated with extreme weather and heat events.The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Dr. Kabir M.
