Pakistan’s First Climate Jirga

PRCS Y&V KP, in collaboration with Global Shapers, Climate Forward Pakistan, Echoes of Earth, and PRCS Y&V MA, organized Pakistan’s first-ever Climate Jirga at the National Incubation Center (NIC), Peshawar. The Jirga brought together representatives from government departments, academia, the Provincial Assembly, NGOs, INGOs, youth, and marginalized communities to discuss key climate challenges and explore locally relevant solutions through the traditional Jirga format.
PRCS KP and MA volunteers also shared findings from the YOUR-CAP Project, highlighting urban climate and resilience challenges identified through field visits and data collection in Peshawar, alongside youth-led initiatives addressing these issues. The Climate Jirga created a meaningful space for community voices, inclusive dialogue, and collective action toward a more climate-resilient Peshawar.
