ইন্টারন্যাশনাল রেসকিউ কমিটি (IRC)-এর ডেপুটি রিজিওনাল ডিরেক্টর (এশিয়া) হাসিনা রহমান এবং রিজিওনাল অ্যাডভোকেসি স্পেশালিস্ট (এশিয়া) সাবিরা নূপুর নারী ও শিশু বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়ের মন্ত্রী অধ্যাপক ডা. এ জেড এম জাহিদ হোসেন, এমপি-এর সঙ্গে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করেন। এ সাক্ষাতে নারী ও শিশুদের অধিকার ও সুরক্ষা নিশ্চিতকরণ, লিঙ্গভিত্তিক সহিংসতা প্রতিরোধ, শিশুবিবাহ রোধ এবং নারীর অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নে সহযোগিতা আরও জোরদার করার বিষয় নিয়ে আলোচনা হয়। এছাড়া শিশু ও কিশোরীদের জীবনদক্ষতা, শিশু সুরক্ষা ব্যবস্থা শক্তিশালীকরণ, ১০৯৮ শিশু সহায়তা হেল্পলাইন, দুর্যোগ-সহনশীলতা বৃদ্ধি এবং রোহিঙ্গা শরণার্থী বিষয়ক কার্যক্রম ও অ্যাডভোকেসি উদ্যোগ তুলে ধরা হয়। নারী-পুরুষ সমতা, শিশুসুরক্ষা এবং অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক উন্নয়ন নিশ্চিত করতে ভবিষ্যতে আরও ঘনিষ্ঠ অংশীদারিত্ব ও যৌথ উদ্যোগ গ্রহণের বিষয়ে উভয় পক্ষ আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করেন। এ সময় নারী ও শিশু বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়ের সচিব ইয়াসমীন পারভীন এনডিসি এবং সমাজসেবা অধিদপ্তরের মহাপরিচালক অতিরিক্ত সচিব শাহ মোহাম্মদ মাহ্‌বুব উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
Hasina Rahman, Deputy Regional Director (Asia), and Shabira Nupur, Regional Advocacy Specialist (Asia), of the International Rescue Committee (IRC), paid a courtesy call to Professor Dr. A Z M Zahid Hossain, MP, Honorable Minister of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs. The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration to advance the rights and protection of women and children, prevent gender-based violence and child marriage, and promote women’s economic development. Discussions also highlighted IRC’s initiatives in adolescent life skills development, strengthening child protection systems, promoting the 1098 Child Helpline, enhancing disaster resilience, and supporting the Rohingya refugee crisis through its programs and advocacy efforts. Both parties expressed optimism about fostering closer partnerships and undertaking joint initiatives in future to promote gender equality, strengthen child protection, and advance inclusive development. The meeting was also attended by Yasmeen Parveen ndc, Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, and Shah Mohammad Mahboob, Additional Secretary and Director General of the Department of Social Services.
